Virtual Common Room

From time to time, your tutor may post in the Information & News section topical information of importance to career practitioners regardless of their stage of study.

Within the Common Room you will also find the:

Reflection Room

The question of what work is all about and where it fits in the tapestry of our lives has been pondered by many for decades, even centuries. Many people reached their conclusions – or observations as I prefer to call them – and wrote them down. The new world of work is prompting us today to wrestle with the apparent confusion over changed situations, changed systems, changed norms, changed values. I’m sure that these observations did not spring easily from the authors’ pens. Each would have been the product of their journey through life, with its complex variations of pain, disappointment, love, joy. In the Reflection Room the observations will prompt you to reflect, gain insights for your own benefit and also for those you help in the provision of your particular form of career services support if you decide to share some of them.

Cafeteria

Here in the cafeteria is ‘food for thought’. These are quotations about the world of work and the role of career helping. From time to time the ‘menu’ changes.
